So i heard lots of good and bad things about this movie, so i thought i would give it a go. i honestly can not understand anyone that gives it such a high rating. it was terrible! the pacing and editing were absolutely awful. the acting was very awkward and wooden. special effects were very very cheap looking. there was nothing redeemable at all with this movie. definitely one for the tween's. stay away if you have any taste in movies at all. it nearly feels as though it was written by a tween for the tween. uggghh its too bad i have to write 10 lines of text too review this movie as its more then this movie deserves. stay away stay away stay away.

I'm so glad I didn't listen to the critics. I would have missed a real gem. I loved the movie and didn't want to leave the theater when it ended.
Yes,the makeup left a lot to be desired, especially the sparkling scene. Since the sparkling plays a prominent role towards the end of New Moon, I sincerely hope the makeup artists come up with a better method by the next film.
That said, the chemistry between Stewart and Pattinson was riveting. These two have so much on-screen sizzle factor together that people everywhere are convinced they really are an item. I can't wait to see how it develops in the coming films. If the newly hired director for New Moon will improve the makeup and special effects while leaving Stewart and Pattinson alone to do their thing, the next movie could be a real block buster. Also along with that is the hope that the time without Edward will be shortened to give this couple more screen time together. Let's face it, Edward is the big draw here. Rob has the brooding James Dean/Marlon Brando thing down to an art. As a 49-year-old mom I can tell you, he made hearts from 11 years old to 50+ skip a beat in that darkened theater. Don't listen to the critics. Check it out for yourself.
